How I Became a 1D Fan !!

Directioners ~ the name given to the fans of One Direction, are an English-Irish pop boy band based in London, composed of Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Liam Payne and previously,Zayn Malik. "Normal" is not usually a word to describe Directioners. We are mostly described as crazy, obsessive, creative & one of the most dedicated fandoms. And its 100% true.

Like any other normal student, the only thing that came to my mind as soon as someone mentioned 1D, was a plane 1-Dimensional figure. Yeah, a Line. What about now? When someone mentions 1D, images of five boys singing on stage to their crazy fans pop inside my head. Who the hell knew that 1day was enough for me to transform into a hard-core directioner? Me neither.

January 12th, 2015. As i was on my way back home from school, I heard few of my classmates screming behind me. I turned around to see a group of girls shooting a video. "Happy Birthday ZAAAAAYN!!!! WE LOVE YOOUU!!" shouted my....best friend? What the hell is she doing? Who is Zayn? Her boyfriend!? But why are others shouting his name? All of my classmates know him? Is he an actor? I didnt want to disturb those over-excited fangirls. I googled about Zayn Malik. Came to know that he was one of the vocalists of a poopular band named "One Direction". Then i started watching their X-factor vlogs.

The Farewell Party

Warning : The following content is not intended to offend any individual and is merely an introvert's point of view towards farewell parties.

Yay Farewell !....really ? I would rather call it a meeting of over enthusiastic extroverts trying to spread chaos and have fun. In simpler words, it is an excuse for people to dress up and click duckface selfies for a better Facebook profile picture. There is an unnecessary hype being created by the same people who organize it. They call it their last time at school with friend. And I am like, you said the same thing thrice before exams !

Then comes the emotional side of the story. People around you will suddenly start feeling sad about the fact that they will not be able to meet each other, while posting the same on social media as their status. Isn't it contradictory ? If this was the case twenty years back, it would've been justified. But now since generations have passed and technology has evolved, we have a thing called social media which enables you to stay connected with your friends. And you write in social media that it was your last get-together ??

While engaging myself in a conversation with my friends, suddenly a thought pops up in my mind which was that I should have had googled "23 ways to rock at a farewell party" before attending one. I ended up smiling like a seal during moments of awkward silence and making a complete fool of myself.

Another aspect of farewell are the dance performances and speeches by your juniors which were quite interesting. Just to keep the party going on there will be some small games which you will have to participate in , while rest of the audience will stare at you.
Some overly dressed girls with glittery makeup and accessories will be the centre of attention for both the boys wanting to click a selfie with them, and the girls who would gossip about how their shoes did not match their dress. Once the performances are done, behind every pillar and every wall, you will find a group of people clicking selfies by showing off their thirty two teeth.

The next thing one will have to face at a farewell party are teachers. Each and every teacher will come to you and ask the universal question which I have not yet figured the answer for, which is "what are your future plans ?". The teachers being your kind well wishers will give you some words of wisdom which will surely help you. Good Luck !

My First Encounter with Facebook

My first encounter with Facebook was when I was eight years old. Like any other day, I was playing at home when I noticed my elder brother doing something on the computer. I went up to him and saw that he was playing a game in which you could build the city of your dreams...You're right ! it was cityville. But being a kid, I was fascinated by the concept of the game. So I asked him to create an account for me. At that time none of my friends were on Facebook. Everything I did in that game had to be perfectly thought about and planned. It was like a fantasy to create a city of your own in the virtual world. That's how marketing works !

Later I discovered that Facebook was not only for games, it had a search bar too ! But again, being a dumb kid I began to search for my friends on Facebook who didn't even have an account in it. The results showed up ( obvioulsly of people with similar name )...but again being a dumb kid, I was shocked and wondered how the internet knew my friends ! And that was my first time....on Facebook :-P

PS : this is the first post on my blog and i suppose "Friday the 13th" was the best day to post it..
